Parish Episcopal School, Dallas: Worn Lab Floor to a Seamless Flake Floor
Parish Episcopal School in Dallas needed a new floor in its science and engineering lab, where the old painted floor was worn, stained and patched. We ground off the old coating, prepped the slab and installed a seamless flake floor built for a hands-on lab.

The Challenge
The science and engineering lab at Parish Episcopal School gets heavy use from students, tools, carts and projects. Its old painted floor was worn through in spots, stained and patched, and no longer easy to keep clean.
Coating over a worn, painted floor just puts a new layer on a surface that is already letting go, so the old coating had to come off first.

Our Approach
We ground the old coating off down to sound concrete and prepped the slab so the new system could bond to it.
Then we installed a seamless flake floor: a base coat, a full broadcast of decorative flake, and a clear topcoat that seals it in. It is tough under carts and tools and easy for the school to clean.

The Result
The lab went from a worn, patched floor to a bright, seamless flake floor that holds up to daily hands-on work and cleans up easily.
If your school has labs, shops, kitchens or corridors with worn or peeling floors, we can schedule the work around the academic calendar.
